Did you know there's water on the moon?

The water (mostly) sits as ice inside freezing craters near the Lunar South Pole that never see sunlight.

In 2023, NASA's VIPER rover will head for the western edge of Nobile Crater to map the water, as well as things like methane, ammonia and carbon dioxide.

The findings will be crucial to the Artemis missions, NASA's plan to send astronauts back to the Moon.
